Amazing Footage of a lion being reunited with humans who raised him
This video really is great. The lion’s name is Christian and he is seeing the people who saved him by raising him and setting him free.
Christian was separated from his parents at an early age and put up for sale in a London department store. Christian’s parents were zoo lions, the father came from the Rotterdam zoo and the mother from Jerusalem, and they lived at the Ilfracombe zoo. When they had cubs, the zoo sold them, and two cubs went to the department store.
Two men, Anthony Bourke and John Rendall, found him there and immediately fell in love with him and determined to buy him. They scraped together the money and brought the little lion home when he was only a few weeks old. They named him Christian.
ABC Launches Free Internet TV website iView in Australia
The ABC launched iView this week after earlier promising to offer free programming online. I am a great fan of the ABC’s online offerings. Their websites are always making use of the latest technology.
iView unmetered on Selected ISPs – FREE TV Downloads!
So far it looks like only iiNet has offered to give it’s subscribers unmetered access to iView and hopefully other ISPs will follow soon.
popurls is the dashboard for the latest web-buzz, a single page that encapsulates up-to-the-minute headlines from the most popular sites on the internet.
Popurls was launched in 2006 as a way of collecting a selection of the most popular websites on the internet. I visit this site at least once a day because it grabs a selection of the most popular videos, news and popular culture and serves it up on one tidy page.
The site gets more than 75 000 visitors a day and has been named one of the 30 most visited sites on del.iciou.us.
A good example of great advertising is when you don’t even need to speak the language to get it. This Dutch insurance advert is a good example of this. This is the second of a great series of ads that are just great.
Here is the first ad by the same Dutch insurance company if you missed it:
Want to see the best flash websites in one place? FWA is the website for you
I’ve watched The FWA (Favourite Website Awards) website grow over the past few years into one of the best spots on the web to see great Flash websites. There are new sites being added daily with one lucky site winning the site of the day award.
FWA is a great resource for Flash designers and developers, especially when you are after some inspiration for your next project.
A must see program for anyone interested in advertising!
I am a big fan of great advertising. The Gruen Transfer is a fantastic new Australian advertising show with a panel of advertising industry experts, who examine the tactics used by advertisers to sell a particular product.
The Gruen Transfer (TGT) is a show about advertising, how it works, and how it works on us. Hosted by the inimitable Wil Anderson, TGT will decode and defuse the commercial messages that swirl through our lives, with the help of a panel of ad industry experts.
My favourite part of the show is a segment called ‘The Pitch’ in which they get 2 leading advertising agencies to create an ad based on an impossible brief.
A good example of great advertising is when you don’t even need to speak the language to get it. This Dutch insurance advert is a good example of this.
The good news is there are more of these, which I will be posting soon.
Ever dreamt of flying? See how this guy does it and how close he gets to a mountain while flying without any assistance. This would be so much fun (if I could ever get the nerve to try it).
